Never fight evil with evil. A kind soul can calm an angered one.
I use follow this advice when dealing with parents. If one comes in irate, I don't take defense. I do everything that year to make sure that they are going to be happy. This usually means being overly nice. It works every time and they are usually my best parent for the year.
kill 'em with kindness.
