Open House! ............twice :(
I have Karsyn's open house tonight. It's 6:30-8:00. Now don't get me wrong, I actually like taking part in school activities with my kids. But, this isn't WITH my kid. Kid's aren't allowed. I understand that, since it's all about reviewing the handbook and paperwork and etc. We also get the chance to dump school supplies then, so we don't have to load our kid down on the first day.
What I DON'T like is, the fact that I have to come back and do it all again on Tuesday with Jordan's paperwork and etc.
It's the SAME handbook. I really don't want to listen to it be read to me twice. But, I can't not show up, and not fill out her stuff and see her classroom.......so I am stuck.
I would not mind doing this at all if it was on one night, but stretching it into two is a pain. I have to take my kids to my mom's house (out of town) two nights in a row. I know there's limited room in the cafeteria and that's probably why they do this, but YUCK!

Oooooh I have to go check my calendar and make sure mine arent on two different nights...I hope not because that would be 3 orientations this week.....Something I like about MIS so far,they will have an activity for the kids to do while the parents do the orientation.
Pardon my french, but what the %&*@ is this open house. Kids are suppose to come and get acquainted with their teacher, especially for kindergarten. This is a big stepping stone for most children. Sounds like something is messed up somewhere.
At least you were told the right night! I have to do open house twice for the same kid!!! UGH! At least someone told me before things got started though. ;)
