I agree totally. To get rid of poverty there must be enough jobs for EVERYONE, education available to those who cannot afford it, and charitable people willing to help families get on their feet in their struggle to make it on their own. The sad truth is, it often DOES take money to make money. With just my little dog training business.. I have already spent a darn good bit on advertisements, business cards, equipment and supplies, etc. If we couldn't afford to do that.. how would I be successful?
Just giving money away does nothing to solve the huge problem of poverty. Just like, "Give a man to fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats all of his life."

Point proven, lotteries. Poor people always seem to end up poor again after winning.
