wild weekend!

Well, we had quite a full weekend at my house! J had a friend over Friday night, and K had one over on Saturday night. We went to Star City to the BBQ shop, and also went to feed the squirrels while we were there. After we headed back to town, we went to Immanuel Baptist Church for their live Nativity. It was really nice. My kids thought the roman soldier was coming to get us when we turned into the drive, and one of them locked the doors :) Everyone we met had such awesome glad-t0-see-you attitudes that we changed our previous plan to visit Shady Grove, and checked out the worship service there at IBC on Sunday. I don't think there was more than a handful of people there that I didn't personally speak to. Everyone was extremely outgoing and there was lots of handshakes and hugs. My kinda atmosphere!

My kids decided that they wanted to go sing with the other children during their Christmas songs.... this is very unlike K, so I was shocked when their children's ministry leader asked her to come and she accepted. She ended up sitting on the front pew and not actually singing, but that was still a big deal to me. We were in a new place, where she knew no one, and she still felt inlcuded enough to want to go down front. J, on the other hand, got up there and sang Silent Night and We Wish you a Merry Christmas as though she had always been part of the plan.

We ended up staying for the potluck after the sermon, although we planned to sneak out the back. We got caught by too many people at the door that convinced us to hang out with them. We had a great meal, and wonderful fellowship with good people that were eager to tell me about the children's programs. J & K are very excited to visit their Wednesday night program, and I was blessed to sit by a very informative church member that filled me in on all the details.

It was a great weekend for us, how was yours?

Shelly it was great to have you and your family visit ibc. My name is Teri Caldwell and i help out with the children's programs. Just wanted to let you know what is coming up this week for your girls and your family to be involved in. Wednesday night at 6:30 the children have Faith Weaver's that includes Music, Bible stories through drama, journals, games, snacks and memory verses to learn. It will be followed this week with finger foods and fireworks. On Sunday my Husband Steve wanted me to invite ya'll to the young adult sunday school class at 9:30. He will be teaching this in January giving Jeff a well deserved rest. The girls would start with me in the santuary for Children's assembly(music, bible story, and prayer) and then go to their Sunday School classes k-2 (Tammy Sullivan-teacher) and 3-5 (Debbie Minchew-teacher) Hope to see ya'll real soon.
