my weekend

dog 016 J went hunting with her daddy, hoping to kill her first buck. Although they saw some, none were close enough for her to shoot. She goes hunting with him really often, though, so she wasn't too concerned. She is convinced she will get one next time.

We have an insane amount of yard work to do. There has never been any done here before us, apparently. All the pinestraw and leaves are ROTTING and stink. They are also literally 5-6 inches deep. It's very nasty. I have uncovered all kinds of stuff while raking. We have also found a lot of things discarded in our woods by the previous owners, such as boards, tires, three wire racks from bbq grills, and lots of trash. Nice, huh. (A lot of it was done right before we bought it, because it is some of the wood from the porch)

Besides all the neglected stuff, we also have a massive amount of vines, and limbs to trim and burn. It will take a very long time to get this yard in shape. (Just like it took a long time to clean the inside to my standards....ugh)

Saturday, my daddy, my brother, and my wonderful husband built a fence at my parents house.

They are all very meticulous about their work. This makes for some quality handiwork when you get these three together.

They put a lot of man power into it, and also had the help of some rented equipment from A&M Rental in Monticello. My daddy called it money well spent and was very pleased with this company.

The didn't get all the boards up, but they did get the posts set. I think it's going to look really nice. Michael really had a good time. (Until my brother outran him, haha... Yes, they raced)
I love this picture of my two favorite men.

I like the fence building pictures. It's good to see dad up and moving around.

that's really good that your family can get together and work like that. when we lived behind my in laws in MS, me and my father in law would work on our houses together, but it was something that had to be done in small doses... we get along lots better just sittin' around shootin' the breeze...

We tried to do some home projects this weekend but didn't get any finished! Hopefully when his dad is here this weekend we'll get some projects marked off the list.
