Update
Ok, here's the latest info on the house buying escapade I have taken you all on.
We should close on the new house on or before Sept 17th. I say "should" because I have become used to delays. HOPEFULLY there will be none, but you know how that goes....
Due to the paint quote being waaaaaaay more than my budget will allow, we are going to have to do it ourselves, no doubt. The entire upstairs needs it. I want it to be done before we move in, or I am afraid it will never happen! We will also need to paint the 1/2 bath downstairs. I have most of the paint color schemes decided, but telling you the names would leave you going "what?" because they make no sense. Also, I won't reference where Blake and I went to get the paint swatches, but I will say, it was ONLY to get ideas because we will be dealing with Paint and Lighting. I would've felt bad for "using" the other store for their samples, had I actually been waited on, but I wasn't, so OH WELL!
I am really dreading this whole paint thing. I want it to be perfect. Michael is rarely home with spare time to do this, but I know he will be very picky as well.
Blake and I have also decided on a print to go above the mantle, and I am going to go see Michelle at Keepsakes and get it ordered. We have picked out a bedroom suite that I am going to get at Cajun Brothers in Conway. They sell Ashley brand furniture (and a lot of others) for WAAAAY less than anyone else. The catch is, they don't deliver. Considering the hundreds of dollars I will be saving, I don't mind going to pick it up. We really wanted to shop locally on this, but when the price is literally half of what we started out pricing, we just can't do it. We are also in the market for barstools and a large area rug.
Most of the other updates and renovations will have to wait. There are a lot of things I want to do, but it is going to take several years to do it all. (Like patio furniture and etc!) I am very happy with most things as-is, and am not complaining. I feel very blessed to be getting this place, and won't nit pick stupid stuff.
I will post before and after pics when we get going on the painting. (ASHLEY HAWKINS, you need to call me!!!)
