Gas.

It was announced at Blake's office yesterday that gas was about to hit 5 bucks a gallon. I was in there when they said it; and it was announced over the PA. They said it was already that high in Eldorado. Well, I checked into that when I got home, and could find no evidence it was true.

Joe Burgess has investigated and found no factual basis as of yet, either. I hope it is a rumor!

Of course when I got gas yesterday, which I needed regardless of hiking up prices, I was beside a guy smoking while he pumped. I jokingly, in a VERY nice way said, hey man, you are gonna blow us all up. He said "SHUT UP STUPID B_TCH, I always smoke when I get gas."

I love southern hospitality. And it's always nice when the gas station worker won't tell them to stop, either. Blake overflowed gas all over the ground yesterday when getting some. Good thing it wasn't at that pump, huh. One little ember could've wiped us all out.

People kept calling the station yesterday and asking about that. I kept wondering why when I got off work that everyone was lined up for gas. Gas going from 3.49 to 5.00 in one day is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. People hear things and don't stop to think how ridiculous it sounds. Going up to 5.00 over a period of time, yes, I could see that, but not in one day. We ran out of unleaded yesterday at our station because of that. Which is fine, when stuff like that happens, we just make more money! :)

Wow, he sounds like he is sooo smart.
Dang Shelley, you know he has to smoke AND get gas too, lol.
When I did tech support for the Murphy USA stores, they always had those stupid people who thought it was cool to smoke while they were pumping up.
I remember one person finding out firsthand how cool it was when one lady drove off with the pump line in her car!

I live in Jonesboro and as of 9 this morning gas has gone from 3.50 to 4.29 already. I have a friend whose father owns several stations around here and he said he got the fax yesterday to increase his pumps by 1.40 gall. today. Hopefully this will pass after Ike.

Ok I just got this from one of my old bosses from Murphy:
Not sure where it will end up. Wholesale prices up $1.68 between yesterday and today.

We only went up 14 cents today. That's no where near what those other prices are. I guess everywhere is different.

http://www.arkansasgasprices.com/index.aspx According to this, 3.99 in Monticello, is the highest in the state.

Well, evidently 4.29 in Jonesboro is higher than 3.99 in Monticello.

well, genius, at the time I said that, MONTICELLO's WAS THE HIGHEST. I can't stand smart alecks.

I was over near the zoo today and there were people lined out in the road about causing a wreck to get gas! It wasn't much better when I got to Maumelle. Good grief!
