phones.
Ok, here is the deal. I currently have a Motorola V9. It the most expensive phone I have ever had (over $300) and is also the only one I have ever damaged. (That's about right, huh!) Actually, my kids damaged it. Twice.
Once, Karsyn spilled au jus on it at the River Restaurant, and the other day, they drenched it when it was (at least ten feet away) by the water slide.
Now, it powers off on its own, and won't hold a charge more than 30 mins or so. It WAS an amazingly good phone, and picks up perfectly in pretty much any area within 100 miles. I can talk waaaaay out by New Light, down in Coleman, all the way to Star City, you get the idea. I don't know if I want another one just like it or not.
The new iphones will be out in July. I don't know if one of those is too fancy and over equipped for me...... I can get a "normal" phone now, and use it till July, then give it to Mike, and get an iphone, if someone can talk me into believing they are great. (And out of state readers, we do NOT have 3G towers here, so keep that in mind) Otherwise, tell me what you think about YOUR phone? I realize I should not be asking that, since Mike sold wireless phones for 12 years....... and yes, I will ask him, too. I know their are certain brands that they always had trouble with, and I will avoid those!

either you shouldnt ask me, or i shouldn't tell you... i have a nokia 6010... not quite a bag phone, but the kids love to point and laugh whenever i pull it out.
here's my deal... when i want to get on the internet i have a computer. when i want to take a picture i have a camera. when i want to make and receive calls, i have my nokia 6010. i suspect i'll have to switch eventually as it's almost impossible to find replacement batteries for it anymore.
but anyway you can't buy them anymore, so this comment is pretty much pointless
get the iphone...! you won't regret it. unless you treat phones badly. ;)
Watch this video, and it may convince you to get a Mac too.
I am at a computer every day, so I decided I do not need the internet on my phone. It costs an extra monthly fee to be able to access the internet, and I did not want to pay that fee. If I traveled for my job and was away from my computer during the day, the fee would be worth it. My husband wants me to get the internet on my phone, but I just don't see the advantage due to my ability to get to a computer all day. It would be nice on trips though.
My workplace sends me text messages and that works really well, though I am slower than my teen at typing a response!
I have a Motorola Razor, and plan to update to the Razor replacement (I think it is the Ultra). It is slim and fits in my pocket. I do not like to wear a phone on a clip, and I have to carry it with me at all times during the day, so this one fits nice in my pocket.
Sorry this is so long, but that was my phone analogy. By the way, we have many phones for our construction crews and the LG's have held up the best under very unusual conditions.
Good luck!!!
Heather and I just got sony slider phones and we love them, the only thing is I'm not sure they get reception as well as the razer v9
I love my iPhone. I like it for the calendar feature. Everything is right there. I have maps on there. Not quite gps but more of directions u get off the Internet. I like having the Internet too. I can get up to date weather when I am on the road like when were leaving Stuttgart about the time the tornado hit. I absolutely love my iPhone.
What's a 3G tower?
