my little drama queen

My diva in training, Jordan, has been unbearably dramatic today. Everything is pretty much amplified when dealing with her under normal terms, and today, her thing to gripe about is the fact that she depises her daddy's new job. Not the job itself, mind you, it's the hours.
For several months, at the end of Michael's employment at the phone company, he was during some major traveling for drager. Because of that, he wasn't getting home till 1-2 am quite a bit, which meant the kids obviously went to bed without seeing him at all. That did NOT go over well.
When he took the new job, Jordan just assumed that it meant he would be here a lot more, all the time. She seems to have no understanding that they are having a sale, and that it won't be typical that he come home at 10 at night. She also assumed he would have Saturday's off. Who knows where these assumptions are coming from...

So this is what I have to deal with today. This face. All day.
Part of me wants to grab her and shake her for being such a whiner, but I guess I should be glad that her whiny-ness is because she wants to see her daddy, and she would not be that way about him if he wasn't such a great dad.
Either way, Jordan will have to get over it, because Dad's lovin' the new job, so we will just have to make the time we get with him be "quality" time and not tv time!

(Of course I could just tell her that she's missing the tomato festival, and get the focus off ol' dad for a while, huh?)
