my kids are pessimists

I am trying to convert them.
They have turned into eternal gripers, and because of that, we have GOT to do something because it is so excessive lately.
If one kid gets a glass of water, she looks at the other kid's glass to make sure there is not one more drop of liquid in her sister's glass than in her own.
It makes me nuts.
So...... Michael keeps saying, OVER AND OVER AND OVER, count your OWN blessings, NOT your sisters!!!!!!!!
Sometimes they act like they have it soooo bad and it's pretty outrageous. Today I am going to make them make "I AM HAPPY BECAUSE: " lists after they make Michael's father's day cards.
Here's my list:
I AM HAPPY BECAUSE:

I HAVE TWO HEALTHY, ALTHOUGH NEGATIVE, CHILDREN

I HAVE A GOOD HUSBAND THAT'S WORST FLAW IS HIS HORRIBLE MEMORY. HORRIBLE....

WE GOT GROCERIES AND THERE ARE OPTIONS IN THE KITCHEN! NO MORE HOTDOGS FOR ME THIS WEEK, WOO HOO!!

I DON'T HAVE TO HANG MY CLOTHES ON A LINE TO DRY THEM.

IT ISN'T HOT IN HERE.

MY PARENTS ARE BOTH ALIVE AND WELL.

MY INLAWS AREN'T INTOLERABLE PEOPLE LIKE MOST OF MY FRIEND'S INLAWS.

I HAVE A NEW BOOK TO READ, THANKS TO MAURY DRAPER.

I AM IN LOVE MY MY NEW BIBLE, WHICH I NOW READ CONSISTENTLY, THANKS TO JENNY SIPES.

I HAVE A NEW CHURCH FAMILY THAT I DON'T HAVE TO HIDE FLAWS FROM. (THEY HAVE EM TOO)

IT'S A GORGEOUS DAY, AND WE CAN GO OUT AND PLAY BECAUSE WE HAVE A HUGE YARD.

AND, LAST ONE FOR NOW, I AM HAPPY FOR MY FRIEND ANGELA THAT IS NEWLY ENGAGED. IT'S FUN TO SEE HER SO EXCITED.

See what's on your list. The first things that come to mind, even if they are off the wall, it's actually pretty easy to do.
