I am blessed with not one, but two wonderful men in my life. On father's day, I never know where to go. Do I stay home with Michael, or do I go see my own father? Great thing about that is, my dad loves my husband like a son, not a son in law, so I have the best of both world's, so we can go to my parents and do the whole dad's day thing at the same time.

I am glad I was raised by a great Christian, God fearing, belt using, hot headed, red blooded American daddy. He has instilled many values in me that will last forever. He set the bar high for Michael to measure up to being a "good daddy" based on what I grew up with. Michael hasn't failed the task.
My parents have been married one hundred and fifty years. Ok, not that long...... but forever. I strive not only to have as strong of a marriage as they have, but to have that great friendship they share as well. I hope I am setting good examples for my kids like they did for me.
Bad decisions as a teenager caused a rift between my father and I for about a year. Thank goodness he is forgiving, because I cannot imagine my life, or my kids' lives without their "Pop" in it.
I hope everyone I know makes a point to hug their dad's neck today and tell them what they mean to them. At one point I thought I was going to lose my dad to cancer. It was a long battle, and he won it. But it put things clearly in perspective. I NEEDED that man around. Tell the ones you love THAT YOU LOVE THEM. All the time, not just on Father's day.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO JEFF NOBLE (MAC DADDY THAT HE IS), MICHAEL ARNOLD, ANDY ALBIN, and any other proud Papa's that read this!

Wow, I'm grateful and humbled for the personal Father's Day wish! Thanks, Shelley!

I'm up at Journey preparing for tomorrow, and I'm grateful for Mike too! He just left here all-asweating after mowing/weedeating. It's humbling to have servant-hearted dads like him around.

Make sure you tell him thanks for me, since I don't even know if he knows what blogs are... ;)

nope, he is clueless about blogs, 100%.

He doesn't even check his email daily.... unlike some of us that are online every few minutes...
