the tooth drama, I have a horizontal impaction, with an abscess
Because my xray looks like the photo below, Dr. Morrison could not remove my tooth. To say that I was distraught is an understatement. I have ZERO interest in going somewhere to see an oral surgeon and be put to sleep. I know some people prefer it, but not me. I have an extremely high pain tolerance, therefore I would prefer to have my dentist do the dirty work. Because this is not possible, I have to wait until June 17th to go to El Dorado to Dr. Smart. Well, I don't care how good he is, I don't want to wait 2 weeks + before I can get this thing out. And that is just an "initial consult" where I sign papers about being put to sleep. They won't actually do anything. I tried to talk my way around that, but it didn't happen. They don't seem to agree that it is a waste of time and gas to travel that far to sign a piece of paper. I have my xrays already. I understand there's stuff to discuss, but I could do that on the day that they remove it. I don't want it put off that far for two reasons, the pain is terrible, AND, I don't want surgery scheduled close to my beach vacation, OR, close to an upcoming wedding I have scheduled. What a mess!
So, I now have antibiotics, and pain meds (which don't work) so I hope this infection gets better soon, and the pain subsides, since that's what they say will happen! I have lots of faith in my dentist, so I am banking on this working!

Oh my gosh! I cannot believe they're just leaving you in pain for that long! What on earth would be considered an "emergency case" to get you in right away?!
On a happy note it was such a blessing to see you guys Sunday!! I was thrilled when we pulled up and saw your ride out there. :) Hope you can make it to Magic Springs with us Wednesday!
Is it a wisdom tooth?I have one just like this that is a wisdom tooth,LOL.I havent had it taken care of either.
Dr Smarts office is right around the corner from my mothers house, very popular guy there...
yep, it's one of my wisdom teeth. I am going to get rid of all of them when I go, I hope. I have only had one removed so far.
I hope your medicine works this time and you feel better soon!
Oh no! That is awful! I hope something works out for you sooner! That looks SO painful!
The waiting was harder than the actual procedure for me. Mine went real well. My son's did too...he had it done on Friday and worked on Monday. Best wishes!
I hope your meds start working! I know it's not fun.
I need to get rid of all of mine too,LOL!!!!
I F E E L your pain. Last year when we moved Kelly down to Crowley after the wedding the only time my tooth DID NOT hurt was for the 5 hours I slept. Other than that I was in miserable pain and NOTHING stopped it. I had an absessed tooth. I made a total of 4 visits to Dr. Morrison before we finally got the pain to stop.
Good luck!!
I'm praying that your pain meds work so you can "gracefully" wait until June 17. I had a horizontal wisdom tooth taken out when I was in high school. Make sure you take ice packs with you that day to help keep the swelling down.
