Most everyone knows that I have a first cousin that is a missionary, along with her husband and three daughters. The above photo is the baptism of their youngest, Emily, while at a retreat in the US. They are currently in Mitrovice, Kosova, Yugoslavia. Kosova gained freedom from Russia recently. This was great to some people, and caused riots with others. If you google some of it, you will probably find way more than you want to see. It's downright scary. They only come back to the US every couple of years, to visit, and to work towards gaining sponsors to allow them to stay in Kosova to witness. (Their original "home" was in Lapeer, Michigan)
Michele's mother, Mary Ann, is my dad's sister. She has beat cancer more than once, had a double mastectomy, hysterectomy, and is also living with extreme MS. She is currently in the hospital in Florida (their second home) where they live when the weather is super cold at their "real" home in Oxford, Michigan. Her MS makes it very hard to tolerate very cold temperatures. She has been "blacking out" and the dr's have yet to find out why. Her bloodpressure is also dangerously low. I can't help but think that some of her problems may be from her worrying about her daughter being in a third world country. So, add Mary Ann to your prayer lists, for her illness, and for her to be able to sleep easy and not worry "too much" about her child and grandchildren. She is very supportive of her families' ministry, but she is also a typical mom, that wants safety for her family of course.
