It was brought to my attention
that several people that come to my blog have said that I was a "bad Christian" for doing a blog about simple rules of photography, and the fact that it is frustrating to be undercut by "just anyone" that buys a nice camera and then thinks they are a photographer.
This blog post was in no way directly referencing anyone, or bashing anyone. I hope that people that truly know me did not read things into that blog that simply were not there. I care very much what others think about me when it comes to my relationship with Christ, but I will also say, I don't think I said anything out of line in that blog. If I did offend you, I apologize, but I wanted to clarify, I didn't attack anyone. It was simply a "vent" and that's that.
People that know me know, that I have always offered to help people learn the ins and outs of their camera by giving them hands on tips, links online, and loaning out my books. My best friend in the world is also a photographer, a mere 20 miles away, and we don't compete. We don't have to..... We do this as a hobby, not an income source, and we enjoy what we do. We both "teach" others when the opportunity presents itself.
I don't know what it takes to define "bad Christian," but I can tell you, it's pretty offensive to be called one.
I fail, and I fail daily. But I also hit my knees daily, and do work very hard to live the best way I can, and give God the credit for all the positive happenings in my life. Could I do better? Probably. But I am giving it a really good try.

wow. I didn't know that there were perfect Christians out there - I didn't think anyone was perfect. I think we all strive daily, like you said, to do better. I thought blogs were blogs, I place of our own - that we can use to vent, write, give help, get help, anything we want. sorry other people feel different. I think your blog rocks! :)
We just can't help it can we? We attract DRAMA!! It's okay though...we don't lack the confidence to stand behind what we say, do, and preach!!
i think your blog is great and i didn't read a post that was offending in anyway. whoever called you a "bad christian" needs to look to themselves. whatever happened to not judging others? just keep up the good work, your blog and your right to post whatever you want!
WOW!!! I really hate that you are attacked on here like you are!!! I know im not a great photographer....i just love to get out and take pics of what ever! I have taken pics and you have showed me how to correct them...not talk about how bad they were and you have answered a lot of my questions!!!!! I enjoy your blog and thoughts!!!! I just wish these people would leave you alone!!! Im very proud of your walk with God....it has helped me realize so much in my own life. I have learned that im not perfect and i can live a Christian life and make mistakes but still know HE is there!!!! Thanks for all you have done for me personally!!!
oh my goodness... we're all bad christians. lol but venting doesn't make you one, in my opinion. I must've missed that blog.
On a brighter note you sure do take BEAUTIFUL pics! I wish I'd have seen that you were doing the pics by Pauline earlier.. I'd have brought the kids by!
Whoever called you a "bad Christian", I'd like to have them show me a "good Christian"! We all are suppose to try to walk a Christ-like" walk and we ALL fall short of that. Besides that, there are rules to everything and until you posted the "photography" set of rules, I didn't know them either. That does NOT make you a "bad Christian"! In my eyes, that makes you a better one because you are going by those rules! I'd have you take Allie's pic ANYDAY AND I recommend you to people I come in contact will all the time. Heck, I say Shelley Smith more than I say my own name!
