100 days of school

Today is the 100th day of school at Monticello Elementary. Although I know the kids love it, because they have fun activities related to it all day, I cannot stand it. Every year, I have to come up with something to put on my kids' shirts. 100 somethings, actually. If you want it to be good enough to win the judging, then you can bet, you will be ruining the shirt you use. (Paint, stitching, glue, etc) Jordan is super competitive and wants to win at everything she does. That trait makes her really into stuff like this. We used only stickers on both kids' shirts. They were happy with them, but, Jordan is not feeling well this morning, as you can see in this picture below. She had a stomachache, but nothing else, and begged to go anyway. So, as you mothers know how this works, I am patiently waiting on the school to call me to come get her.

am i that crappy a parent (figure)?? there's no way i can look at that kid and tell she doesnt feel good. props to her for wanting to go to school feeling poorly though!

we have a little different problem... kids that try to get out of going to school any way they can. we too wait for the phone call... so we can tell the teacher they're faking and send them back to class :-)

btw, it would not be the least bit manly to comment at all on these shirts, so i'm not. even though they are the cutest things, you'll never hear (or read) that from me... no SIR!

be glad that you got away with only stickers.... The kids in Crossett do it their first year of school only... and I sewed on 100 buttons! I put a school house in the middle of the shirt and then got to sewing.... It was something that she could wear over and over!

I do agree.. do not get far from the phone!

I hear lots of things are going around right now. I know several with strep and it started with throwing up. Hope she doesn't get sick.

I actually, have only had to do this twice in 6 years. This year, for Kyla and one of Kendall's kindergarten years. Not every teacher decides to do it,and apparently I hit the jackpot in that arena...LOL.
I did a painted snowman with snowflakes-99 snowflakes,I will post a picture this afternoon.I guess I have done it so little-I didnt realize there even WAS a judging...LOL.

Yeah,I have yours and Deans problem with the kids.Kendall is a faker...oh yeah, that is her big flaw-and at MES they obliged her, they would have me come get her for telling someone to shut up or something strange like that and Jaxen and Kyla always want to go.I know stomach bug is going around,I havent heard about the strep but will definitely be on the lookout for it.

unless Jordan feels absolutely nasty, she always begs to go. Karsyn is not a faker, but she would not argue if I said stay home! Jordan would.

OH, and it was fun the first year BUT I am glad that that was just a kindergarten thing here! Glad they did not wear a good thing out!

Love the shirts. You think making the shirts are bad. Try being a kindergarten teacher and doing it all day long. I am so tired.
