WM3

New evidence is being presented in the now infamous case of the West Memphis Three .
I have followed this case since it occurred, partly because I considered doing a term paper on it, and partly because of the interesting twist that the boys were supposedly blamed for killing the kids based on being "black wearing devil worshippers that indulge themselves in rock music."

This is their site.

There are all kinds of discrepancies in the investigation of this case.
The bloody restaraunt guy, the goofy dad (stepdad?) and his mysterious dental work, horribly documented police work? Too many red flags in this case to have someone on death row. Do I think they did it? I don't know, and that's the problem. I don't think anyone else really KNOWS either.

I have seen both HBO documentaries, and also have the book, Devil's Knot, The True Story of the West Memphis Three. John Mark Byers portrays himself very well as a nut job in all three. (He also gave one of the film crew guys a knife, that was filming for one of the HBO movies)
This knife, which was not obtained by police for a month afterwards, had blood matching his dead son's bloodtype on it)

Famous musicians and actors have provided monetary support, and tried to help this case gain enough attention that the 3 receive a new trial. Everyone from Wynona Ryder to Metallica has gone to the media, asking that more investigation be done.

There is a lot of information here that you can check out to see some of the wild inconsistencies in the case.
I am not implying that they are innocent. I am, though, insisting that I believe there is not enough evidence to convict.
Maybe this newest info will bring justice to the case, whether it reveals they are right that the WM3 did it, or it was someone else..........

1993... wow. i was in new orleans at that time, and i either didnt hear about it or i've forgotten that i heard about it, but what i've read so far has been fascinating (and quite sad so far as those three 8 year olds are concerned, and the three convicted killers if it turns out they were wrongly convicted). tonight i'll have more time to read uninterrupted.
