We're Baaaaaaaaaack!

We had a wonderful trip to Yellville/Flippin, Arkansas this weekend. We were really happy with Silver Run Cabins, where we stayed. Normally I am NOT into still life pics, or artsy nature stuff, but I played around a little. I won't bore you with a ton of those though, but I am posting a few so you can see how pretty it is. I will probably get the rest on Flicker tomorrow. I am not a flower person, so I have no idea what this is, but there were tons around the cabin.

We took a long walk down this gravel road just before dark. There were literally 15 turkeys in the field in front of us, and lots of deer and horses. It's very peaceful and serene there. This road is a dead end, with only our cabin and one other on it. There was zero road noise.
I brought along some groceries and cooked breakfast both mornings. I caught Mike in this pic, sneaking in to make coffee in my clean kitchen. (But while he was in here, I was hiding in the bathroom using his toothbrush cause I forgot mine...haha)
We followed this little duck family all over. They were a little skiddish, but not too bad. They were right nearby "Front Porch Restaurant" where we ate one night, which was good, but nowhere near as good as the "Sodie Shop" in Flippin. (Flippin is TINY and still has the best Walmart Supercenter ever, Lou!!)
We left at noon for a 10 mile float trip down the Buffalo. It was nice, but there were not any rapids. We will be heading to the Spring River next time, because now we have our nerve up!
We did have gorgeous landscapes to check out, with deer, turtles, cranes, and things like that. And I wish I had a dollar for every fellow canoe-er that yelled, "Where yall from?" People were super friendly.

Yes, my husband is a dork. No doubt about it. (FYI, the entire river was that deep)
Don't let this pic fool you, I did plenty of paddling too.......

I think this was one of the best parts; not fixing my hair or wearing makeup. NICE. Not too cute, but sure was easy!
All in all, a great trip, not one drop of rain, temps in the high 70's-low 80's, good times together, and a beautful countryside.
Eight years of marriage is just the beginning, I know we have many more anniversaries to come!

Glad you both had a great time. Who needs makeup when you are on vacation...or in my case...ever!

Looks like you had a great trip! Makes me want to take a trip with just my hubby!

Spring River....Oh my, I went on a float trip in college there, and right in a horrible curve, mine and a friends conoe overturned....he almost drowned, and I have a big scar on my knee. I can't even think about getting in a boat now...I almost have a panic attack thinking about it!

But, it is a beautiful river, and a lot of more fun rapids....if you aren't terrified of that kind of stuff like me!
