....tired......

Whew.
I am so stinkin' tired. Blake and I have been walking 4 miles per day, trying to prepare for the race for the cure.
Normally, we do this late, when my kids are in bed, and it's cooler. Well, today, I had the bright idea to go mid day. AT NOON.
Bad idea.
TOOOO hot.
And walking daily has also severely irritated my my plantar fascia as well. (A muscle across the bottom of your foot) I have torn it several times, and long distance walking is supposed to be a no no. And so is flip flops. I don't mind my dr too well......

But, our walk began after a nice morning at church. I was blessed to get to spend the preaching service holding baby Samuel. He is a precious gift to his mom and dad, much like the biblical Samuel that was so prayed for. I love that sweet baby smell, with a hint of spit up! He cooed and "talked" and fell sound asleep. Holding him, reading along with Jeff in my bible, and taking in His word, was a great reminder of how good my life is within my church family.
Baby Samuel's mother doesn't "know" me outside the Journey walls. But does she hesitate when I meet her at the door to take her infant? No. Because we are all so family like in there. It's such a good peaceful feeling to enjoy someone elses' baby, all the while giving her a short break from her needy little man. I seem to always have someone's baby or toddler on my hip, and I like it that way. We have soooo many precious children within our doors, within our church family, that I love to death.
So many things to appreciate in our lives go unnoticed, but babies aren't one of them, at least for me! I love them! Although I can't have more, I love to love on the little ones of others. It's pretty calming for me, and if you didn't already know it, I am NOT too calm by nature. I love big grins from Karis, and getting Blessing her cup of milk. It's hard to stay irritated with the daily grind when I have Jadon David toddling towards me, with a big mischevious smile.

I am getting better at counting my blessings, are you?
We are learning more all the time about improving our prayer life. It's actually pretty easy to do, if you recognize just how much is going RIGHT, in comparison to what is going WRONG.

I love my family.
I love my friends.
and I am glad I have them.

Thank you for pointing that out... sometimes we just forget how lucky we really are! I am so lucky and really do have so many things to be thankful for even if some things in ours lives are not going as planned.

I'm glad that you mentioned the fact that it was YOUR idea to walk in the heat of the day! I am also thankful for my friends and family and am really trying harder to think about the good instead of the bad....thanks for your help!!
